Grants and Prices
Every year, the ARFDM offers a grant to a young researcher, physician or jurist, for the presentation of a publication on medical law in an internationnal congress.
Previous grants:

In 1999 : for the congress of the Association Méditerranéenne de Médecine Légale in Hamamet (Tunisia) :
- Emmanuelle Rial for : " la circoncision, choix des parents, droits des enfants ".
- Catherine Raynal for : " conséquences en responsabilité civile du défaut d’information ".
- Delphine Raynaud for : " le secret professionnel et la communication des informations médicales ".

In 2000 : for the XIVèmes Journées Internationales Méditerranéennes de Médecine Légale in Madère ( Portugal ) :
- M. Ben Dhiab ( of the medical law service of Sousse, Tunisie) for : " la responsabilité médicale en coelioscopie ".
- Isabelle Filippi for the 13th Congress of Medical Law in Helsinki.

In 2002 : a grant has been proposed for the workshop « Ethique de la Recherche » in the congress of the IAFS in Montpellier (www.iafs2002.com). This workshop has been canceled by the organisers.
Prices:
- In 2003 : a price of 900 euros has been given by the ARFDM during the Séminaire d’Actualité de Droit Médical which took place in Toulouse, may 6-7, 2003, to Marie-Hélène Regnier for her presentation « Aspects sociaux, éthiques et juridiques des cellules souches, du clonage et des nouvelles techniques de reproduction. »
- In 2004 : a price of 500 euros has been given to Ingrid Cailles during the Séminaire de Droit Médical for her presentation« Les enjeux éthiques et juridiques de la création de collections d'échantillons biologiques humains dans le cadre du projet de loi relatif à la bioéthique. »
- In 2005, the ARFDM price was given for two posters :
- Yann Joly that of a researcher at the Centre for Public Law at the Montréal University
"Access to genetic information contained in medical records by insurers: recent developments"
- Mikos that of Martin and Jaroslav Kycia of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków
"Medical secrecy in the legal texts in Poland"
- In 2006, a price of 500 euros offered by the ARFDM rewarded presenting Ondrej Dostal (Lawyer, Czech Republic) at the World Congress on Medical Law in Toulouse, entitled "Direct surplus payment for services already covered by a public health plan: a threat to equitable access or an instrument of patient autonomy? "
General application condications are:
- Be a doctor or lawyer, a student level Bac +5 or internal medicine, or a student of Master.
- Supervised by a team working in the medical law, forensic science or health law.
For the grants:
- Present a summary of a work in the medical law, the right to health, medical liability for oral communication (in English or French).
- Communication must be accepted by the scientific committee of the congress chosen by the author (ARFDM wishes to prospective list of Congress announced).
- In the presentation and in any publications, the author mentioned that he had been subsidised by the ARFDM.
